Sonos Amp and ceiling speakers: a wall volume control
Ceiling speakers are discreet and sound great, but they don’t have a single button. With a Sonos Amp hidden in a cabinet, the kitchen or bathroom volume ends up depending on whoever has the app. A knob on the wall fixes that.

The problem with built-in speakers
A Sonos Amp drives passive ceiling or in-wall speakers with ease. The Amp itself has touch controls, but it usually ends up in a utility cupboard or behind the TV. In the kitchen, bathroom, dining room or terrace there’s no control at hand, and anyone without the app (guests, kids, grandparents) can’t even turn the music down.
A volume knob on the wall, no building work
knobeast hangs on the wall with its bracket, which cancels out the case’s tilt so it sits flat, at light-switch height. The case drops into the bracket and magnets hold it, so you can lift it off and use it in your hand.
- Power: USB-C, with the cable running through the bracket and down the wall or into the wall box. Or a rechargeable battery, with no cable at all.
- No electrical work: no need to touch the fuse box or call an electrician.
- Connection: over your home Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), straight to the Amp, no cloud.
Every room, its own knob
You can have one knobeast per room, or one that controls several at once: on the knob itself you choose which speakers or groups it handles. Turn for volume, press to pause, and the screen shows what’s playing.
- Configurable maximum volume: nobody blasts the kitchen by mistake.
- A screen that dims by itself.
- In the colour of your wall: white, black, cream, terracotta, mint…
Also with other Sonos speakers
It works just the same with an Era in the bathroom, a One in the kitchen or a Five in the living room: any Sonos speaker on your network.
FAQ
Does it need any building work?
No. The bracket is fixed with two screws and the knob runs on USB-C or a battery.
Can it control several Amp zones?
A Sonos Amp is one Sonos zone. If you have several Amps or speakers, you can pick one, several or a group on the knob itself.
